The first liberating virtue is giving, and this is understood to include giving fearlessness and giving the dharma. So whether its feeding the hungry, providing medical care, education or justice, we are called on to help. It's clearly not important whether that help is given through a formally Buddhist channel, but here are a few links to Kagyu organisations with humanitarian aims. I'd be glad to hear of more.

First I must mention Rokpa, founded by Akong Rinpoche. I have mentioned them elsewhere on this site, so that's enough for now.

Under Thrangu Rinpoche's umbrella, look for activities by selecting projects.

The Nangchen Yushu Educational and Medical Association (NYEMA, the Tibetan word for the sun) tells us that it was: "founded in 1997 by The Venerable Lama Norlha to establish basic educational and medical resources in his native homeland, Nangchen, Tibet."
